Project Accountant

Your new company

We are working with a leading construction company looking for a project accountant to oversee multiple projects from beginning to end. You will be joining a vibrant and collaborative team environment while working closely with project teams.

Your new role

• Manage full-cycle project accounting on multiple construction projects
• Collect, analyze, and provide data-driven recommendations to keep the project on schedule and achieve its goals.
• Ensure accurate job costs on site
• Process vendor invoices within assigned timelines.
• Prepare financial statements, project reports, and other requested reporting.
• Work closely with PMs and provide them with timely, accurate, and relevant financial reports, including budgets, cash flows, and forecasts.
• Ensure estimates and forecasts are accurately entered into accounting software.
• Complete project Reviews and Profit Rec (WIP) monthly and within deadlines
• Monitor and liaise with customers on receivables, ensuring proper billing support is in place.
• Manage job cost accounting and reclassification entries.

What you'll need to succeed

• Completion of a Financial Management program or Junior CPA designation
• At least 2 years of experience in construction accounting and job costing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Comprehensive understanding of project accounting best practices.
• Ability to excel in a challenging and dynamic work environment.
• Highly organized and able to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel
• Willingness to work both on job sites and at the Head Office.
