Are you a housekeeping enthusiast looking to grow your career in hotels? An independent hotel located in the heart of Victoria’s tourist zone, Hotel Grand Pacific is recruiting a Room Checker. As a supervisory member of the Housekeeping team, the chosen candidate will help ensure a superior guest stay by applying their housekeeping experience and excellent organizational skills.
Shifts will be during daytime hours and 8 hours in length.
Duties:
· Assist in the direction of workload and ensure Room Attendants complete room assignments on time
· Inspect guest rooms to ensure established cleaning and service standards are met
· Help monitor the performance of housekeeping staff, providing constructive feedback and coaching as required
· Assist with the training of new Room Attendants as required
· Assist with cleaning rooms when required
· Provide excellent customer service while handling Lost & Found administration
· Ensure that all health and safety practices are being adhered to
· Other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Management.
What We’re Looking For:
· 3 years of recent housekeeping experience in a luxury property
· Previous experience training and supervising others
· Positive and effective verbal & written communication skills
· Able to foster a friendly and welcoming department culture through excellent interpersonal skills.
· A motivating attitude and the ability to provide constructive feedback
· Proficiency with MS Office Suites including Excel
· Working knowledge of Opera PMS is an asset
· Comfortable with a mixture of desk-based work and physical tasks.
