Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client's dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting processes. You will play a pivotal role in preparing monthly financial statements, conducting variance analysis, and supporting compliance efforts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual audit files
• Prepare supporting documents and journal entries
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements
• Perform financial analyses and prepare special reports as needed
• Contribute to day-to-day accounting and finance operations
• Implement and maintain internal control procedures
• Reconcile complex accounting accounts
• Provide financial support to various departments
• Participate in budgetary activities
• Collaborate on special projects as assigned
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including IFRS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
• Experience with Sage accounting software is a plus
• Fluency in English and French (written and spoken)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities
