LSCO is seeking a energetic, friendly and organized person to join our team as a Volunteer Program Assistant. This position manages the day to day administrational duties related to all LSCO volunteering opportunities.

Work direction from: In Home Supports & Volunteer Coordinator
The Volunteer Program Assistant manages the day to day administrational duties related to all LSCO volunteering opportunities.
20hr/week on-site
Job Responsibilities:
Follow the work direction of the In-Home Supports & Volunteer Coordinator to deliver volunteer engagement, volunteer recruitment & volunteer orientation opportunities, increasing the volunteers’ understanding of the organization, its services and their roles/responsibilities.
Collect information on volunteer availability & skills and record & track all volunteer information including positions and hours into a database.
Work with appropriate Department Leads to ensure adequate volunteer coverage and appropriate placement of volunteers.
Prepare schedules and assignments for volunteers in advance of their shifts; communicate with volunteers before, during, and after.
Ensure that volunteers work in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment.
Assist in planning and implementing formal and informal volunteer recognition activities and ensuring that volunteers are acknowledged.
Assist with the Promotion of the volunteer program to gain members & community support of the volunteer program.
Responsible for the delivery of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) to include volunteer training, volunteer scheduling, client scheduling and drop offs, statistics and data collection.
Cover administrational tasks for the In Home Support and Meals on Wheels team, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma, plus related training or experience
Customer and client service experience preferred
Clean police record check with vulnerable sector check (within past 6 months)
Organizational skills and experience/knowledge of general office procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both in written form and verbally, to a wide variety of people, including staff, members, the public and volunteers.
Must have a good working experience and skill with personal computers and office productivity software.
Drivers license with reliable vehicle is preferred
