As the Project Estimator you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and resources needed for construction projects. This includes analyzing project plans, specifications, and identifying the required materials, labor, equipment, and timeline. The Project Estimator works closely with the project team, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to provide reliable and competitive estimates that meet the project's goals and budget.
Job Responsibilities:
Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand project scope, objectives, and constraints.
Conduct thorough site visits and evaluations to assess project site conditions, accessibility, and potential challenges.
Collaborate with the project team, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project details and address any ambiguities.
Identify and analyze project risks and suggest mitigation measures.
Create and review Tender Estimates, Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal
Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for all project components, considering materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Research and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
Estimate the total project costs accurately using cost estimation software, historical data, and industry benchmarks.
Prepare preliminary and final cost estimates, including material and labor breakdowns, reports, and presentations.
Continuously update the cost estimation database to reflect current market trends, materials, and labor costs.
Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and cost forecasting.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain accurate quotes within designated time frames.
Develop and maintain a network of trusted subcontractors and suppliers. • Ensure timely delivery of accurate estimates, bids, or proposals to clients.
Ensure all estimates and proposals comply with client requirements, industry standards, and regulations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to estimation activities, including drawings, specifications, correspondence, and change orders.
Collaborate with procurement and contracts teams to review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements
