Team Lead

MacDowell Insurance Brokers Ltd is a small, boutique-based brokerage located in Burlington, ON. In business for over 30 years, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service to our clientele.

We seek an in-house Team Leader to service new and existing clients, and to supervise office staff.

Qualifications

• Must be R.I.B.O licensed with experience in a brokerage setting
• Thorough understanding of underwriting guidelines
• Comfortable with changing technologies in the industry; adaptable to new software, portals, digital platforms, etc.
• Comprehensive understanding of personal lines (commercial lines an asset)
• Strong client service and time-management skills, with high attention to detail
• Willingness to communicate with clientele over the phone as well as in person
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills
• Systems Proficiency with Power Broker, Applied and Microsoft Office software
  
  

This is a full-service position meant for a well-rounded broker who has experience in all facets of a brokerage including: underwriting, quotes, applications, remarketing accounts, renewal reviews, communicating with clientele, portal work, claims, etc. This may not be a good fit for those coming from a very task-specific working environment.

Supervisory Duties

• Supervision of 3 – 5 employee
• sDevelop training plan
• sRecommend procedural changes to increase productivity and efficiencie

Client Service Duties

• Assisting new and existing clients with policy, billing, and informational needs
• Renewal reviews, with recommendations to clients
• Providing in-house quotations to potential clients and referral business
• Preparation of new business and/or remarketing of accounts
• Reporting and monitoring client claims
• Communicating with underwriters and insurance company representatives

• Preference will be given to CAIB and Unrestricted RIBO
