1A Driver

Currently seeking candidates to haul subcontractor loads from NRT in Saskatoon to remote northern mines. Hauling flat deck and van loads.

Also seeking candidates to haul grain and fertilizer year round between Crystal Springs, SK area and locations around Saskatoon.

This role is based out of Crystal Springs, SK area with the possibility of parking trucks near your home base if it makes sense logistically.

This position is full time as we have year round work to keep you busy at all times.

Longer hours may be required during seeding and harvest operations.

Responsibilities:

• Plan trip logistics, including determining the most efficient routes, considering factors such as traffic conditions, weather, and delivery schedules.
• Ensuring compliance with permitting, legal and safety regulations.
• Maintain regular communication and a good working relationship with the dispatcher to provide updates on delivery status, route changes, or any incidents that may affect the timely delivery of goods.
• Perform thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles, checking for any mechanical issues or safety concerns and reporting them promptly.
• Safely and efficiently load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of delivery documentation.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients and handling any inquiries or concerns in a courteous and prompt manner.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 1A driver's license
• Clean and current drivers abstract
• Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in the transportation industry
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
• Excellent trip planning and time management skills
• Effective communication skills to interact with dispatchers and clients
• Ability to perform pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance
• Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety protocols
