Position Summary
The Product Handler performs shipping and logistics duties to ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and government regulations regarding railcar and truck loading and shipping. This role’s duties ensure that methanol production and shipping volumes balance and that the product reaches customers within the allocated time frame.
This temporary position has an anticipated end date of December 31, 2024.
Position Responsibilities
Prepares rail tracks to ensure all safety measures have been put into place before loading.
Secures railcars and trucks to ensure safe transport of methanol.
Ensures loading documentation is accurate to promote correct information transfer to the shipping documentation.
Using a track mobile moves railcars between the loading and storage tracks and aligns railcars to the loading stalls.
Willing to learn communication protocols for effective interactions to ensure safe operation while moving railcars.
Completes lockout/tagout of valves and equipment before maintenance on loading equipment.
Works with Marketing & Logistics and the truck drivers to ensure maximum load limits are achieved based on Transport Canada’s Guidelines.
Completes transport truck documentation ensuring compliance with Transport Canada and its subsidiaries.
Completes Safety Fire Protection Inspections, and housekeeping audits.
Accurately enters data into the Rail and Truck Loading spreadsheet to balance daily and monthly plant production.
Participates in track inspections with qualified track inspectors.
Position Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Should be physically able with the ability to lift 50 pounds
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
Preferred Qualifications
Industrial Rail Car Mover Operations Training
Relevant safety training
Experience with railcar loading as well as moving railcars using a track mobile
Experience using hand tools (Impact Gun and Torque Wrench)
