The Manager in Training position is an entry-level role for individuals interested in pursuing a leadership career at M&P. We provide comprehensive training, development, and experience to support your career growth.
Position Description

As a Manager in Training, you will be an integral part of the store's leadership team, working closely with the Store Manager(s). This position offers on-the-job training for individuals eager to develop or enhance their management and leadership skills within our organization. You will participate in various skill-building activities such as fostering teamwork, cultivating customer and staff relationships, managing inventory, merchandising, and placing orders.

Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Culture Development:
- Support the company's mission, vision, and values by providing strong leadership.
- Foster a workplace culture where employees feel valued, competent, and motivated to excel.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with store managers to maximize results and ensure an exceptional customer experience.
- Participate in training experiences to learn new skills and demonstrate proficiency in managerial responsibilities.
Operations Management:
- Learn and supervise operational procedures for the store or yard, ensuring thorough and timely completion.
Human Resources Support:
- Assist in various employee-related functions, including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and performance appraisal under the guidance of the Store Manager.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with retail, professional, and commercial customers.
- Maximize sales opportunities and motivate sales performance through positive feedback and recognition.
Sales and Service Excellence:
- Lead by example in initiating contact with customers, providing product information, resolving escalated issues, and making decisions that benefit both the company and the customer.
Business Development:
- Promote and network locally to generate new business and recruit talented staff for the store.
- Strengthen community relationships in areas served by Moffatt & Powell Rona.
Sales Support and Inventory Management:
- Assist in retail and contractor sales support, including special order products.
- Collaborate with Store Manager(s) in inventory management, conducting cycle counts, and ensuring accuracy of product on hand.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines outlined in relevant handbooks and manuals.
