Job description
The Junior Data Processing Technician will assist the Data Processing team and Field Scanning team with a variety of tasks related to 3D laser scanning and manage large data sets. This role will be office based, technically challenging, extremely fast-paced, and rewarding in terms of compensation and personal/career development working alongside other industry leaders in 3D data capture and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC).
This position reports directly to the Geomatics Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Complete point cloud management, and cleaning of pointclouds.
- Assist with processing raw field data.
- Assist with managing large data sets.
- Participate in pre-job meeting/scope review.
- Communicate with Field Scanning team about any concerns with data of field equipment.
- Ensure data is kept organized and stored properly.
- Exemplify professionalism in all interactions on the job.
- Participate in and adhere to ONSITE3D safety program.
- Participate in all safety meetings.
- Meet all requirements from the HSE Accountability Agreement and Supervision Requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must have flexible availability. Mornings, evenings, and Weekends.
- Must have technical aptitude and able to learn quickly.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must have strong computer skills,
- Ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of 3D laser scanning as an asset
- Experience with Faro Scene is an asset
- Experience with Cyclone or other registration software an asset
- Geomatics related experience is an asset
- Possess great interpersonal communication skills.
