K9 Handler

Well, sounds too good to be true but it's not. We are looking for that special someone to work with our four-legged K9 professionals. Yes, a working dog! You would be part of our nationwide K9 Handler Team that plays a crucial role in keeping the public safe. This individual would have to have a general interest and understanding of the intricacies of a working dog.

As an ORKIN K9 Handler, you would often tackle the technical aspects of pest control while maintaining excellent customer relationships. To be successful with us means you likely possess the following qualities.

What can you expect on a typical day as a K9 Handler?

ORKIN K9 Handlers are our brand ambassadors who complete a number of activities on a day-to-day basis. One thing is for sure, there is never a “typical” day with us, every day presents challenges our K9 Handlers love to tackle. Your day may consist of

- Work with dog to inspect premises for bed bugs

- Coach and counsel clients on bed bug prevention

- Inspect premises to identify infestation source and extent of damage

- Generate sales and meet monthly quota(s)

- Perform other duties as required

What do you need to qualify?

To be considered for the K9 Handler role, we do have some requirements

- High-School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent

- Ability to work with, train and care for a dog on a fulltime basis

- Bilingualism (French/English) an asset

- Experience handling a K9 for work purposes preferred

- Valid provincial pesticide applicator license preferred

- Valid driver’s license / clean driving record

- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and time management skills

- Ability to manage and work as part of a team

- Will have to undergo a criminal background check

- Sales experience an asset
