Snowmaking is the insurance policy that allows Panorama to open early and sustain a quality and durable product until closing. The position of snowmaker is what truly makes it happen. Snowmaking operates for up to 3 months, 24 hours/day Members of the snowmaking department are responsible for operating our top-of-the-line snowmaking equipment to produce a quality product for skiers and snowboarders. Snowmakers have the privilege of fulfilling their tasks on the side of a mountain with a backdrop of magnificent mountain views, sunrises, sunsets, and majestic northern lights.
Essential functions:
Participate in Snowmaking training and understand snowmaking safety policies, develop an understanding of the operation of our snowmaking system, operational techniques, and how to produce quality snow product.
The snowmaker reports to the shift foreman and is responsible for executing assigned tasks in accordance with Panorama’s operational techniques and safety policies.
Tasks may include but are not limited to transporting and setting up snow guns and hoses, operating and maintaining snow guns, operating snowmobiles.
Experience/Requirements:
High school diploma or its equivalent
Mechanical knowledge is an asset.
Snowmaking experience preferred.
Able to perform in severe and inclement conditions for sustained periods of time.
Willing to work on day, afternoon, or night shifts.
