Job Posting for Pet Care Provider at Part of the Pack

Part of the Pack is looking for 3 experienced, committed, long term (6 months) pet care professionals to join our pet care team.

Looking to hire 3 individuals for the following roles;

-Pet sitter who is available to care for dogs in their home (ongoing contracts available). If you work from home or no longer have any dogs of your own, this could be a great opportunity for you. If you do have a dog in your home, your dog must be dog-friendly.

-Pet sitter who is available to stay overnight/live-in the pet owner's home

-Pet care provider part-time who is able to provide 20-30 min drop-in visits for cats and dogs

-These are contractor positions where you will make a generous commission per service you provide

-As a contractor you do not receive EI, CPP, Benefits, sick leave or paid vacation, however we offer a welcoming team environment where support is available when you require time off.

Requirements & Qualifications

-educational background in animal behaviour, biology, psychology and/or professional/volunteer experience working in kennels, dog walking, dog daycare, animal care, dog training, etc. is essential

- have knowledge and understanding in animal behaviour and body language cues (anxious, fearful, happy, comfortable, nervous).

-must be comfortable handling large and x-large dog breeds

-police check

-pet first aid required within 3 months of joining our team

-be personable, friendly, professional

-be understanding and compassionate

-strong reliability needed - we have a strong reputation in the community for our reliability and service to the animals in our care and I am looking to hire people who take this seriously.

- able to work independently

-have a reliable vehicle

- have 1 year experience handling dogs on-leash, and off-leash

- feel comfortable working independently as a contractor. You will be meeting new clients and their pets during Meet and Greets, and will be required to send me an invoice every two weeks, keep track of your schedule, keep note of your own kms and expenses related to the business; leashes, long lead, poop bags, car barrier or seatbelt clips, etc.
