HR Coordinator (Contract)
Skills
Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with good communication skills and would be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Maintain an accurate human resources system including employee personnel files and relevant electronic data files
- Provide administrative support to the HR Manager in all functional areas.
- Responsible for timely and accurate data entry in all HR Systems that support the function including but not limited to Human Resource Information Systems, Payroll Systems, Workplace Injury Management and Recruitment Systems.
- Oversee accurate completion of daily time sheets and completion of weekly payroll and associated tasks
- Administer all employee benefits and company group registered retirement savings plans
- Coordinate and maintain training needs and records
- Coordinate and maintain an effective performance management system including job descriptions, performance discussions and performance evaluations
- Coordinate and maintain all employee vacation time and vacation pay records
- Manage employee absenteeism, attendance program, reports and early stage culpable corrective disciplinary action as required
- Recruit and select employees for all hourly internal available positions
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures as required
- Maintain all HR plant related forms and documents to TS16949/ISO14001 standards
- During management system audit events provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures, and participate in corrective action activities as necessary
- With direction of HR Manager, develop and implement continuous improvements to human resources systems, policies and procedures
- Collect and analyze HR data as necessary
- Provide timely assistance to supervisory level with regards to hourly employee issues, and refer as appropriate to HR Manager as required
- All other duties as assigned by the HR Manager and or General Manager or the corporate Vice President of HR
- Promote an atmosphere of team work at all times
- Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained
- Where a support role exists within the human resources department of the plant, some of the outlined responsibilities may be delegated as appropriate, and accountability maintained by the Coordinator.
- Coordinate social and charitable company sponsored activities and fundraisers
- Administer company Apprenticeship program and co-op student programs
Minimum Education And/Or Designation Requirements
- Must possess a post-secondary school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed some or all of a College level program with an emphasis in human resources or Human Resources Professional designation (e.g. C.H.R.P., P.H.R., S.P.H.R., G.P.H.R.) or equivalent relevant work experience.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
- Must Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in human resources, including a minimum 1 year payroll related experience
- Familiarity with and ability to interpret and apply employment and Health & Safety legislation which includes in Canada: the Workers' Compensation Act, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations, Bill C45 Due Diligence, WHMIS Regulations, Pay Equity Act, Ontario Human Rights Code and any other related legislation.
