We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our growing team and portfolio!

Main Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and track all contract documents. Be familiar with the overall project scope and provide the overall project schedule. Identify potential extra work and constructability issues prior to project execution.
  • Participate in all meetings for the assigned projects, including multiple stakeholders
  • Work in conjunction with various departments internally (accounting, operations, safety, etc.) to ensure positive communication and execution of the project.
  • Prepare overall project handover to coordinators and operations.
  • Attend site meetings with various stakeholders on the project.
  • Review all project submissions for accuracy.
  • Review locates to identify any issues.
  • Train and effectively manage project coordinators.
  • Work breakdown packages:
  • Drawings
  • Mix Designs
  • PO numbers; supplier contacts and coordination
  • Locates
  • Anticipated work breakdown
  • Be able to manage multiple projects of various sizes, concurrently.
  • Capable of reviewing and managing risk and liability from a constructability perspective and identifying those situations effectively. Identifying change in scope.
  • Oversee &/or track project progress using revenue vs. cost analysis.
  • Estimate and provide quotations for any extra work requests on existing projects and negotiate final change orders.
  • Submit requests for information, compensation, and other documentation as required.
  • Identify, prepare, and compile claims for submission.
  • Develop and implement detailed forecasting schedules and work plans.
  • Complete site investigations and safety assessments as required.
  • Other duties as assigned and required

Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in the construction industry working as a Project Manager. Experience in Foundations would be an asset.
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or proven related field experience.
  • Heavy civil construction experience (MTO/OPSS experience an asset)
  • Knowledge of shoring systems and deep foundations (piles and lagging, caisson wall, sheet piling, shotcrete, caissons, micropiles, helicals and driven piles)
  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset
  • Well-versed client interaction skills; verbal, written, conflict resolution, etc.
  • Must have strong communication, time management, scheduling, and negotiations skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications such as excel, word outlook etc.
  • Must have a clean driving record and a Valid G licence
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team
