Controller

Our client in Hamilton is looking for a Senior Accountant for a 9-month contract. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take responsibility in overseeing the daily operations of our accounting department, managing financial reporting, conducting forecast analyses, and ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded. This is an excellent opportunity for those that want to take their career to the next level and be a stepping stone to controllership. This working arrangement is 4 days onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
Supervise, direct and manage the company's accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and treasury.
Coordinate the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and report variances.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions to enhance financial accuracy and reliability

Proven work experience in an accounting supervisory role.
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices.
Hands-on experience with SAP financial software is a must.
Manufacturing background is a definite advantage.
Proficiency in financial analysis.
Versatility and adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Power BI proficiency is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Accounting designation.
