Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic public accounting team. The successful candidate will be nearing completion of their CPA designation and have a focus in audit and assurance. Key Responsibilities:
Performing audit and assurance engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards
Liaising with clients to understand their business processes and control environments
Preparing financial statements, including notes and disclosures in compliance with GAAP
Conducting risk assessment during the planning stage and executing risk-based audits
Collaborating with team members to complete audit procedures, including substantive testing and verification methods
Identifying and communicating accounting matters and opportunities to senior team members
Assisting in the preparation of tax returns and other tax compliance tasks
Assisting in the management of project scope, deadline changes, and client expectations
Maintaining updated knowledge about the latest changes in accounting standards, regulations and feel comfortable mentoring junior staff in these changes
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
A minimum of 2 years' experience in public accounting
Hands on experience with audit and assurance services
Currently within one year of securing a CPA designation
Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with accounting software
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements
