What is the opportunity?

RBC is seeking a strong candidate to join its Market and Counterparty Credit Risk team, where you will take part in a complete front to back redesign of market risk calculation infrastructure. You will work with various stakeholders (Front Office, Quant Groups, and IT teams) on this Risk Modernization (RM) initiative. Your core responsibilities include contributing to the successful design, analysis, documentation, execution and user adoption of the target state infrastructure.

What will you do?

  • Work with Risk Managers, Quants, IT partners to gain subject matter expertise on the existing market risk management process and metrics (such as sensitivities, VaR, and stress) across different trading desks.
  • Articulate risk measures/attributes required for future market risk monitoring, aggregation, and analysis.
  • Test and validate the risk measures and reports against existing benchmarks. Prioritize and coordinate issue remediation.
  • Design and implement consistent interactive dashboards for Risk Managers, Trading Desks and Senior Management.
  • Facilitate transition and drive end-user adoption of strategic infrastructure; Assist in legacy systems decommissioning.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with project stakeholders.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 3 years of market or counterparty credit risk management experience with strong analytical skills
  • Masters or equivalent with emphasis in finance, economics or a quantitative discipline is preferred
  • Strong knowledge in Financial Instruments and Derivatives Products (Equities, Fixed Income, Currencies) and associated Greeks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel and SQL
  • Proven ability to work across organizational boundaries in a multi-stakeholder context

Nice-to-have

  • Working knowledge with Python
  • Experience writing and editing requirement documentation, project plans or end-user document
