We are currently looking to hire a Digital PR Specialist to join our team. Someone who thrives in the fast-paced agency environment and is excited by the ever-evolving realms of public relations and digital marketing. The ideal candidate has strong communication and written skills and is a creative thinker, enthusiastic, and driven professional looking to further their own career and education with constant innovation in an agency setting.


Your role is pivotal in creating and disseminating content that resonates across various industry niches. You are comfortable collaborating with a team and working directly with clients. Working Hours:
37.5 hours/week - (4 days required in office at Lansdowne, Ottawa) - 1 month of training (5x week in-office)


Pay Range: $45,000-$50,000


Day-to-Day Responsibilities and Activities:


  • Work closely with the Media Relations Strategist and other Digital PR Specialists to deliver world-class and engaging content through various platforms for our clients.
  • Daily news scanning and monitoring of various PR platform tools to match suitable journalist queries to clients' industries.
  • Confidently understand each client's tone and unique writing style.
  • Conduct relevant research, and write persuasive public relations submissions and guest blogs for various client industries.
  • Working alongside the Media Relations Strategist to craft compelling outreach messages through PR platforms and coordinate stories with clients and journalists.
  • Complete technical projects, including local directory projects, competitor analysis, and backlink audits.
  • Develop and maintain strong personal relationships with key publishers and influencers (journalists, bloggers and PR professionals).
  • Be a secondary point of contact for our clients' media/PR-related inquiries.
  • Monitor the internal PR platform and use various tools to measure monthly efforts.
Engage in brainstorming sessions with the Digital PR department and participate in networking events.


Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or emerging practitioner in one of the following programs: public relations, journalism, communications, English, or similar.
  • Have a strong level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure to meet daily deadlines and manage monthly deliverables.
  • Willing to engage with media contacts through different mediums and build long-lasting and strong relationships.
  • Be a creative and detail-oriented thinker who is a team player.
  • Interested in learning about best practices and techniques in digital PR and digital marketing.
