Unimotor is a Division of Four Seasons Temperature Control Division within the Standard Motor Products family of Companies. They are a supplier of HVAC & radiator cooling products to OES, OEM and automotive aftermarket customers.
Job Summary:
The Material Planner/Buyer position reports to the Materials Manager and is responsible for ensuring the availability of all necessary materials required to support the production schedule including quoting, sourcing recommendations and releasing PO’s.
Tasks:
Review MRP messages and generate purchase orders to support production requirements in a timely manner, working with suppliers to expedite as required -arranging transportation and approving freight costs.
Prepare Request for Quotes (RFQ’s), secure and analyze quotations to make sourcing recommendations.
Actively negotiate pricing, terms and delivery with suppliers to provide the most cost-effective solution for the company production and MRO requirements.
Proactively identify, resolve and communicate potential supply concerns with supplier(s) and Unimotor personnel as required.
Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with assigned suppliers in a global environment. Participate in supplier selection, reviews, scorecards and corrective actions.
Support the ECR process and co-ordinate changes with impacted suppliers and Engineering.
Setup and maintain item master for responsible components ensuring accurate data on an ongoing basis- including safety stocks and vendor pricing.
Participate in Corporate sourcing initiatives and commodity review.
Supports and participates in the Continuous Improvement Process.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written at all levels within and outside of the organization.
Strong working knowledge and experience with using Material Requirements Planning.
Solid working knowledge of MS applications, in particular: Excel, Outlook and Word.
Preference given to candidates enrolled in a professional accreditation program with an industry related body.
