Our Extraction Maintenance Execution team is looking for a skilled Journeyperson Welder at our Base Plant location. You will be essential in assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency while working alongside a dynamic team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Five years of post-apprenticeship welding experience
- A Valid Alberta Journeyman Welder Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Welder Certificate
- A valid B pressure ticket
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures are preferred
- Knowledge of SMAW, OAC, MIG, FCAW and PAC and heat treatment processes
- Proven problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills and validated ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Responsibilities:
- Execute all planned and break in welding repairs, build-up for line-boring and fabrication, as required
- Remove and replace major components (pump work and pipe fitting with multi skilling training)
- Operate company-provided equipment and vehicles in a safe manner
- Clean and prepare base metals using bevellers, grinders, air nibblers, and cleaning chemicals
- Evaluate maintenance procedures, and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
- The shift schedule is 3 days / 3 nights on; 6 days off rotation; 12-hour shifts
- This position is safety sensitive
- You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
