Role:
This position is responsible for leading the daily routing function with the goal of consistent, on time delivery in the most cost-effective manner possible.
Role Responsibilities:

Use Road Net software to route daily deliveries
-
Perform Road Net and IDS maintenance and adjustments to delivery time windows, add new customers, plan standard routes
-
Plan and schedule daily backhaul pick-ups working with logistics department
-
Support planning and build of bi-annual Route Bid
-
Plan fleet and manpower requirements for upcoming delivery days
-
Manage and coordinate returns, reships, rekeys
-
Actively work with other departments to improve routing efficiencies while enhancing the customer experience

Provide transportation analytics to department leadership as requested

Actively communicates with all levels of business

Accountable for designing cubic floor plan for back of trailer (pallet positioning, optimizing cube/pallet height, efficient configuration of products/pallet in the trailer).

Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.

Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.

Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

2 years in a dispatch/routing or related role
-
Geographical knowledge of service area and map reading skills
-
Prefer a variety of transportation routing experience, i.e. water, land, rail, etc.

Foodservice distribution experience an asset
-
High School diploma required
-
Post secondary education in logistics and transportation an asset
-
Intermediate MS Office skill set (advanced skills preferred)
-
Knowledge of AS400 and oracle WMS systems
-
Enterprise Road Net or other dispatch and routing software knowledge is an asset

Geographical knowledge of the region
