We are searching for a Project Estimator to support our Project Management Team.
Title: Project Estimator
Summary:
The Estimator will understand the Estimating process and participate in the preparation of capital cost estimates. In addition to capital cost estimates, the role will involve taking part in cost risk analysis and Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) cost estimates.
Duties:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for industrial construction projects
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents
- Research and determine material, labor, and equipment requirements
- Provide support in the formation of construction budgets and proposals
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project scope and objectives
- Review and negotiate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Review final contract and services agreed and ensure expectations of final product and timing are included in estimate
- Develop and apply rates and time durations with associated tasks
- Set and manage priorities to meet deadlines
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide updates as needed
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without sacrificing quality
Requirements:
- Experience in heavy industrial engineering or construction estimating
- Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency in using software tools such as Bluebeam for document management and collaboration
Preferred Skills:
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or certification or degree in construction management
- Experience with cost estimating industrial projects
