The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for the right person to fill a full-time Term position for an HR Generalist - HCM Project. This key role will support Human Resources in HCM/HRIS Implementation and in foundation setting work, including policy, program, systems and process updates and development. In addition, this role will contribute to the development of a People and HR Strategy and support HR leadership and the HR Department with research, project work and generalist human resource work.

As our preferred candidate, you will have:

  • Post-secondary degree in a Human Resources or related field (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • CPHR designation preferred
  • Minimum of five years human resource generalist experience, including skills and experience in developing HR policies and program development, and the set-up of HR program administration or payroll/human resource systems.
  • Aptitude for understanding and translating business needs and outcomes into human resource outcomes, programs, and people strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, functions, methods and best practices
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Collaborative skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple, sometimes competing, timelines and deadlines effectively
  • Ability to influence, advise, and disseminate information in a well thought-out, logical, and effective manner at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to strategize and formulate business plans
  • Ability to create and deliver executive level presentations and materials
  • Knowledge of and ability to successfully utilize a variety of decision making, consultation and stakeholder engagement tools and methodologies
  • Good working knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related legislation and standards

Remuneration:

$42.26 to $52.82 per hour.

Hours of Work:

75 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Additional Information:

The term of this position is anticipated to be 24 months.
