The Dufresne Group is currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist located in the Greater Toronto Area, to support recruitment for our network of Ashley stores in the Ontario region.


As a Talent Acquisition Specialist you will be responsible for identifying, attracting, sourcing, and engaging qualified talent for openings across The Dufresne Group and its brands (including Ashley Canada). You will partner closely with Hiring Managers to understand their recruitment needs and use innovative sourcing methods to find top talent for open roles and future opportunities.

As the Talent Acquisition Specialist you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for various levels of positions in our stores (sales, sales management, merchandising, warehouse and more), developing strong partnerships with Hiring Managers and ensuring consistent and positive candidate experience.
  • Research and source talent via resume databases, direct sourcing, networking sites, social media, user groups, and partnerships with various organizations.
  • Evaluate candidates utilizing various assessment tools and interviewing techniques to provide objective and insightful selection decisions.
  • Manage candidate progress and ensure recruitment activity is actively updated in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Build relationships with candidates during the screening and interview process to understand their goals and interests, helping to place candidates in the right role at the right time and build a pipeline of talent for the future.
  • Increase both the quality and quantity of candidate leads while decreasing cycle times.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual recruitment goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in support of individual and team objectives.
  • Liaise effectively with HR Business Partners and HR Services to ensure integrated services to Hiring Managers and Candidates.

As a successful candidate you will have the following:

  • Post-secondary education and at least 2 years of experience in Talent Acquisition/Talent Sourcing roles. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR), Certified Social Sourcing Certification (CSSR) and Advanced Certified Internet Recruiter (ACIR) designations an asset.
  • Sourcing experience, with ability to creatively identify and engage passive talent using a variety of platforms and tools (resume databases, social media, networking sites and user groups, etc.)
  • Technologically savvy with excellent research skills.
  • Highly persistent with the ability to meet deadlines and produce results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Service-oriented with a focus on providing a high level of support to Hiring Managers and excellent candidate experience.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to self-manage and prioritize according to current workload demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert relationship builder with the ability to gain buy-in and trust from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel within Canada as required for career fairs and in-market recruitment initiatives.
