Local Area Dispatcher

The Rutherford Group is a full-service logistics company located in Stratford, ON.

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Local Truck Dispatcher to join our group. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing a fleet of six local trucks, covering Windsor through to GTA. Our ideal candidate is expected to play a crucial role in the coordination and optimization of our fleet's operations.

This position will be expected to;

• Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments.
• Efficiently plan and coordinate the dispatch of our truck fleet to optimize routes, schedules, and delivery times.
• Maintain constant communication with clients and provide updates on delivery status, delays, and other relevant information.
• Work with 3PL’s to optimize fleet revenues and maximize trailer capacity.
• Resolve any issues or emergencies that arise during transportation, such as breakdowns, accidents, or delays Strong geographical knowledge of surrounding areas.
• Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards in Canada.
• Previous experience as a truck dispatcher or in a similar logistics role is preferred.
• Current AZ driving experience is an asset.
• Keep track of shipments.

We offer straight day shifts, Monday – Friday, hourly wage plus company benefits.

This is an in-office position.
