This will include an integrated platform for relationship and people management, learning, intranet and data warehouse. In order to achieve all this, we are now recruiting for a Strategic Labour Relations Consultant for our Human Relations team.

The Labour Relations Strategic Consultant plays a critical role in shaping and executing the organization's labor relations strategy. This position involves analyzing labor trends, providing strategic advice, and supporting the development of labor relations policies and practices. The analyst will work closely with HR, management, and union representatives to ensure harmonious labor relations, compliance with labor laws, and alignment with the organization's long-term goals.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity with the potential of extension or transitioning to a permanent role.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Analyze labor market trends, union activities, and regulatory changes to anticipate potential impacts on the organization.
  • Develop and recommend strategies to address labor relations challenges and opportunities.
  • Support the formulation of long-term labor relations strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Assist in the development and revision of labor relations policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
  • Provide guidance on the implementation of labor policies across the organization.
  • Provide data-driven insights and strategic advice to management during collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Assist in the preparation of negotiation materials, including financial models, cost-benefit analyses, and scenario planning.
  • Work closely with HR, legal, and management teams to align labor relations strategies with broader organizational goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and employees to address labor relations issues and concerns.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management, outlining labor relations trends, risks, and recommendations.
  • Use data to forecast labor relations trends and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct regular analysis of labor relations metrics, such as grievance rates, arbitration outcomes, and employee satisfaction.
  • Educate managers and supervisors on effective labor relations practices to minimize disputes and foster positive workplace relations.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., SHRM, CLRP) is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in labor relations, human resources, or a related field, with a strong focus on strategic analysis and policy development.
  • Deep understanding of labor laws, collective bargaining, and labor relations best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence effectively.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and HR information systems (Workday is a strong preference)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing labor relations challenges.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $113,343 (mid.) to $136,011 (max). Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
