The Waterfront District Business Improvement Area (BIA) is looking for an individual to work with the BIA throughout the summer to promote businesses and activities in the area.

Reporting to the BIA Coordinator, and working with Waterfront District partners and Businesses, the Social Media Content Creator, will promote the Waterfront District BIA by developing campaigns to continuously engage with the public and increase online presence and promote the area.

Responsibilities:

· Be the Waterfront District storyteller - continuously share timely and unique business success stories, events and announcements, with engaging content copy and multimedia assets (photos, videos, infographics, etc.), while showcasing the community

· Create copy writing for social media posts, and integrating copy with graphics

· Stay on top of current events and updates in the Waterfront District

· Establish and maintain a network within the Waterfront District to ensure a continual stream of content for your work

· Understand the Waterfront District’s audience to develop a content calendar to continuously engage and strengthen brand loyalty, to maximize social media followers and engagement

· Improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information

· Stay up-to-date on the latest social media best practices and what’s trending

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Hands on experience with social media outlets (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)

· Initiative coupled with attention to detail and comfortable engaging with others to extract information and convert it into social media content

· Able to manage being a Waterfront District representative while engaging with businesses and the public

· Be curious, creative, and adaptable

· Have great communication and writing skills and be willing to continuously improve

· Willing to take initiative to personally own and execute the social media content strategy

Job Type: part-time/contract/seasonal

Rate of pay: $18.00/hour

Schedule: 30 hours a week
