Our Library System
The Thompson-Nicola Regional Library (TNRL), a department of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, provides services through 13 libraries and a Mobile Library. Located in the Central Interior of British Columbia, the TNRL provides programming, materials and resources to people of all ages. The Role
The Library Aide (Summer Programs) is responsible for planning, promoting, developing, and delivering summer programming. They will focus on summer programs for children or for teens and adults. Duties include preparing and organizing materials used in summer programs, inspiring patrons to join summer programs through social media and other types of media outreach, and planning and developing programming for summer programs. Aides will also deliver the programming they’ve planned, whether these programs are passive, take-home, virtual, or in person. Aides will build connections with community groups such as schools, daycares, preschools, day camps, and seniors’ groups. One children’s position will have a focus on programming specific to daycares and other child-care centres. The position may require travel within Merritt or to communities adjacent to Merritt. The schedule for this position is subject to change.

This is a temporary 14 week position with an anticipated start date of May 14th, 2024 and is subject to funding from the Canada Summer Jobs. The schedule for this position is 9:30-4:00pm, Tuesday - Saturday and may include evenings.
This position pays $19.93 per hour with an additional 14% in lieu of benefits.
