We are currently recruiting Registered Early Childhood Educator(s) or equivalent (Child and Youth Worker or OCT Member) and Assistant Educator(s) to join our Team in Alliston at the following location: Boyne River PS.
New June 2024 Pay Scales!
Starting Pay:
RECE or Equivalent: $25.06 - $28.64/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr), Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr) Canada Wide Early Learning & Child Care (up to $1.00/hr for RECEs where applicable)
Assistant $19.61 - $22.41/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr) and Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr).
- Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program.
Position Type & Required Availability:
- Full-time Split Shift Supply Position (25-40 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a split-shift (morning and afternoon) in our Before & After School programs Monday-Friday to be considered.
- Casual Supply status (variable hours): Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 5 assigned shifts every month.

POSITION SUMMARY
To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met in compliance with all Ministry and organizational guidelines. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate, play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. To effectively collaborate and communicate with other employees, families and outside agencies in an effort to properly support the needs of individual children.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (or approved equivalency) from a recognized college or university (for ECE position).
- A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
- At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.
- Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
- Up-to-date registration with the College of ECEs (if applicable).
- Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).
- Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation, and with the use of pedagogical documentation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uses initiative; applies sound reason in solving problems and resolves conflict in a calm, professional manner.
- Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, coworkers and other professionals.
- Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
- Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce, and Storypark.
- Performs general housekeeping and classroom duties. May be asked to occasionally fill in as cook (job description to be provided).
