Part-time Shopkeeper

Part-Time Shopkeeper Responsibilities: We are currently looking for an individual excited to provide 5-star customer service in our retail shop on Fridays and Saturdays.

• You will act as a plant expert in the shop, building a comprehensive knowledge of the products and plants we sell at VI Plant Shop.
• You are able to execute daily shop tasks including: thorough cleaning, daily plant care and maintenance, and and inventory handling tasks as scheduled.
• You can navigate various training materials, standard operating procedures, and daily operational systems with accuracy (Checklists, Gmail account, Google Drive documents, etc).
• You may assist with shop events and workshops as scheduled.
• You are willing to develop expertise in operating our point of sale system (Shopify), handling all transactions accurately, and navigate basic troubleshooting.
• You will be able to accurately open and close the shop following all procedures as an effective and responsible Keyholder position after sufficient training.

Requirements:

• Excellent respectful communication skills and the ability to navigate priorities, multi-task, follow-up, and ask for assistance when needed.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and complete tasks accurately, asking for help with needed.
• Ability to receive constructive criticism and feedback with a willingness to learn and improve.
• Consistent ability to maintain a positive, optimistic, empathetic attitude at all times.
• 1 years of retail experience.
• Must be available on Fridays and Saturdays as well as retail black-out holidays (Black Friday weekend, weeks leading up to Christmas, Mother’s Day, etc).
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs. This job requires lifting soil, large plants, and heavy boxes.
