Worley is seeing an HSE Advisor to join our team in Fort McMurray
- SCHEDULE: 14 x 7 with 12 hour days NIGHT SHIFT
- Fly in/out from Edmonton or Calgary
The HSE Advisor facilitates the safe performance of work. The aim of this role is to utilize professional judgement in assessing risk, reviewing risk and work practices, and determining the best practice to achieve compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Know and manage the Site-Specific Safety Plan or the Site-Specific Location Plan
- Monitor compliance with the Worley Safety Management System
- Monitor compliance with Client’s Safety Processes as well as provincially legislated safety regulations
- Monitor compliance with Sub Contractor Site Specific Safety Plan
- Work with Line Management, Safety Officers, and Client Safety Representatives; and also interface with internal and external customers on issues related to safety
- Support, advise and mentor Construction Management team members including front line supervisors (Foreman) regarding HSE accountabilities and implementation of HSE practices and procedures
- Maintain a presence in the field daily
- Ensure Job Hazard Analysis and Field Level Risk Assessments are completed
- Ensure that all workers and visitors have the proper orientations and training requirements
- Guide and Mentor employees on Worley and Industry specific safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular safety audits and worksite inspections
- Take an active role in on-site safety meetings, task hazard analysis, and incident investigations
- Effectively plan, organize, communicate, and monitor progress on tasks and projects as they relate to Safety
- Ensure the application of best practices and ethics when dealing with confidential information
- Maintain all documentation requirements as outlined in the Site-Specific Safety Plan
- Prepare and provide site safety statistical information to HSE Administrator and clients
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety- Diploma
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate is required
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is considered an asset
- 5 years of Industrial Construction Site Safety Experience
- Expert knowledge and skills in order to generate and promote a positive health and safety culture
- A proven track record of excellence in safety and job completion
- Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tools such as: MS Office suite of tools
- Interpersonal skills – establish direct working relationships and rapport with all levels within the organization,
- Communication skills – demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service, including developing and improving customer relationships internally and externally
- Attention to detail and a focus on producing a quality product in a timely manner
- Ability to appropriately handle highly confidential information and situations
- Ensure all safety legislation is adhered to and policies and practices are adopted
