Job Title: Medical Transcriptionist

Location: Margao, Goa.

Introduction:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Transcriptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transcribing recorded medical dictations into written reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to medical terminology and patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transcription: Accurately transcribe data from healthcare professionals into written documents, including patient histories, physical examinations, and surgical reports.
• Review and Edit: Proofread and edit transcribed reports for grammatical accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Ensure all information is correctly documented and adheres to medical and legal standards.
• Medical Terminology: Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and procedures to ensure correct interpretation of audio recordings.
• Confidentiality: Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and other relevant privacy laws.
• Documentation: Organize and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documents.
• Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify any unclear information and ensure the accuracy of transcriptions.
• Technology Use: Utilize transcription software and other medical information systems to facilitate and streamline the transcription process.

Qualifications:

• Education: post-secondary education in medical transcription or a related field preferred.
• Certification: Certification from a recognized medical transcription program or organization (e.g., AHDI, AAMT) is advantageous.
• Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare procedures.
• Strong typing skills with high accuracy.
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with medical transcription software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Attributes: High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
