Responsibilities:
Instruction :Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive social science lessons aligned with the curriculum. Teach various social science subjects, including history, geography, civics, and economics, to students in grades 6 to 10. Use diverse teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, group activities, and technology integration to enhance learning. Curriculum Development :Develop and update lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments. Ensure the curriculum is aligned with state or national education standards. Incorporate current events and real-world examples to make lessons relevant and engaging. Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects and activities. Assessment and Evaluation :Design, administer, and grade tests, quizzes, and assignments to assess student understanding and progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth. Prepare students for standardized tests and school examinations. Classroom Management :Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and discipline. Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and active participation among students. Student Support :Identify and address individual learning needs and provide additional support as needed. Offer academic assistance to students through extra classes, tutoring, or remedial sessions. Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and a passion for social sciences among students. Professional Development :Stay current with advancements in social sciences and teaching methodologies. Participate in professional development workshops, conferences, and training sessions. Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and improve teaching practices. Extracurricular Activities :Organize and participate in extracurricular activities related to social sciences, such as history clubs, geography competitions, and school events. Encourage student involvement in activities that complement their academic learning. Administrative Duties :Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about student progress and concerns. Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and committees as required. Qualifications:
Education :Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, History, Geography, or a related field. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching certification. Experience :Previous teaching experience at the middle or secondary school level is preferred. Experience in preparing students for standardized tests and school examinations is advantageous.
