The KST Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing kitchen staff, coordinating food preparation, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and other personnel.
Provide training and guidance to kitchen team members.
Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to ensure efficient operation.
Food Preparation and Quality Control:
Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items.
Ensure that recipes are followed and food quality meets established standards.
Monitor food storage and inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and minimizing waste.
Safety and Sanitation:
Ensure the kitchen complies with all health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and facilities.
Implement and enforce hygiene and sanitation standards.
Inventory and Cost Management:
Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
Monitor food and labor costs to ensure budget adherence.
Work with suppliers to negotiate pricing and maintain quality standards.
Customer Service:
Address customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of food production, inventory, and staff schedules.
Prepare reports on kitchen operations and performance.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
Proven experience as a kitchen supervisor or similar role.
Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using kitchen management software and tools.
Working Conditions:
The role requires standing for extended periods and the ability to lift and carry heavy items.
