Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Company Secretary (CS) Intern to join our team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in gaining practical experience in corporate governance and regulatory compliance. As a Company Secretary Intern, you will work closely with our legal and administrative teams to support various corporate secretarial functions and learn about the responsibilities involved in ensuring the company's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Governance: Assist in maintaining and updating corporate records, including minutes of meetings, resolutions, and statutory registers.
Compliance Monitoring: Support the monitoring and implementation of legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the company, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, such as company law, listing rules, and corporate governance guidelines.
Board Support: Assist in the preparation of board and committee meeting materials, including agendas, presentations, and board packs. Attend meetings and take accurate minutes.
Filing and Documentation: Assist in the preparation and filing of statutory returns and other documents with regulatory authorities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Communication: Liaise with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and regulatory authorities on company secretarial matters. Respond to inquiries and requests for information in a timely and professional manner.
Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of corporate governance policies and procedures to enhance transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct within the organization.
Research and Analysis: Conduct research on legal and regulatory developments relevant to the company's operations. Analyze findings and prepare summaries or recommendations as needed.
Ad-hoc Projects: Support the legal and administrative teams on ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, Corporate Governance, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience or coursework in corporate law, company secretarial practice, or regulatory compliance is a plus but not required.
