Scope of Role
•Work Location – Onsite / Offshore
•Reporting to – Program Manager
Baseline Responsibilities•Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of Structural Engineering
•Mentor Civil Engineers and facilitate a holistic understanding as to the scope and plan for projects
•Communicates technical issues and recommends solutions to Supervisor and/or project management.
•Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators)
•Conducts reviews of vendor drawings, calculations and other documentation.
•Works on conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
•Prepares cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
•BS / Masters degree in Civil engineering with minimum 5 (five) years of Structural Experience
• Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
•Layout and details portions of projects using schematic layout by project lead engineer. May be assigned responsibility for schematic or conceptual layouts when qualified.
•Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by Designers/Drafters.
•Research design options and document findings for project lead engineer,Review shop drawings.
•Assume the lead engineer’s role on assigned projects
•Develop probable construction cost estimates for his/her projects within the department.
•May direct and supervise other Designers/Drafters activities.
•Coordinate work with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.
•Perform field activities such as observe and record existing field conditions, take and verify measurements within project area.
•Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents
•Extensive knowledge and exposure to relevant International codes and specifications like ASCE, AISC, ACI is desirable
•Expertise in STAAD-Pro, MS-Office, Mathcad and related structural engineering software
