We are looking for a highly motivated, organized and technologically-savvy Fleet Auto mechanic to oversee the Fleet Operation of Best in Class Organization. This person will report directly to the GM.
*This role will be part time with a schedule of Sunday, Monday, Friday and Saturday*
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) scheduling vehicle preventative maintenance, vehicle repairs, using third party fleet management software, and ensuring the ongoing safety of our drivers. You must have a “whatever it takes” attitude and are committed to keeping our trucks on the road, safely and efficiently.
In this role you will:
● Administer all vehicle title, registration and insurance
● Schedule all vehicle preventative maintenance and repairs, including refurbishing of dump bodies and retiring aged vehicles as required
● Analyze fleet operating expenses & shop consumables to drive down costs
● Conduct fiscal analysis to determine when best to repair fleet vs purchase new
● Provide direct driver safety training and coaching
● Guide employees on pre-shift and post shift truck inspections
● Integrate data through third party software
● Manage all fleet maintenance policies and procedures and ensure 100% compliance on corporate policies and SOPs
● Manage and negotiate with local maintenance facilities for maintenance or repairs.
● Manage and negotiate with third party vendors specifically related to replacement truck and dump body parts
● Manage and negotiate with third party vendors such as metal recyclers, transfer stations to minimize operating expenses.
● Work predominantly with Isuzu Non Diesel trucks
What you bring:
● 8-10 years of experience in a similar capacity to the duties outlined in this job description
● Technical knowledge relevant to mid-sized commercial trucks and dump bodies
● Familiarity with federal and state regulations based on commercial vehicles
● Understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair implications
● Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize based on business needs
● Proficient with Google Suite and fleet management software
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Willing to be flexible with scheduling.
