OPERATIONS MANAGER WANTED - HIRING QUICKLY - FULL TIME

Company Overview

1-800-GOT-JUNK? New Jersey South is growing, and we are now accepting applications from experienced individuals to manage the daily operations of our business. We have high standards and need a person who believes in delivering top quality service and outstanding leadership to a crew of 50-60 workers. By the way, this is a “hands on” management position requiring manual labor work in a training capacity. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get the job done, no matter what, and have fun in the process!

Operations Manager - 1-800-GOT-JUNK? New Jersey South

Compensation

  • Starting wage: Base salary $50k depending on experience.
  • Signing bonus after 90 day review: $1k
  • Monthly performance bonus up to $500 per month
  • 5 day Paid vacation after 6 months of employment
  • Health reimbursement program reimburses up to $250/month for qualified health insurance premiums and medical expenses

Schedule

  • Hybrid 5 day work week - at least 2 days in the field, at least 2 office days, and no less than 45 hours.
  • Days start at 7AM. No end-time is given. Our crews work until the jobs are complete, meaning hours will vary daily depending on the needs of the business. (Average of 45-52 hours per week)
  • Expect some weekend hours, typically Saturday.

Location

  • Office is located in Westville, NJ
  • Field shift starts at one of our various truck locations in the surrounding areas (Mt. Laurel, Collingswood, Magnolia, Westville, West Deptford, Sewell, and Turnersville)

Position Overview

The Operations Manager duties and responsibilities can be broken down into three main components: leadership, staff management and day to day operations. Therefore, it is critically important to find a candidate who is strong in all three areas of the business. Let’s take a look at each area and see if you measure up to the demands of the job. Leadership

  • Inspire the team by infusing a winning culture and brand-building approach into all aspects of the business.
  • Create a sense of urgency for all members of the staff to reach higher levels of productivity.
  • Meet regularly with the General Manager to review weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly goals.
  • Set the standard for customer loyalty.

Operations

  • Train employees, work with the crew and spot check jobs on a regular basis or as needed.
  • Resolve customer service issues and/or disputes that are escalated.
  • Monitor weekly, monthly and quarterly productivity reports.
  • Ensure costs are contained and find ways to eliminate wasted time and resources.
  • Manage fleet maintenance and repairs and reduce fleet downtime.
  • Run the company when General Manager is unavailable.

Staff Management

  • Work proactively with crew to coach them on driving revenue and reducing costs.
  • Run crew meetings twice a week.
  • Monitor employee results through daily coaching sessions.
  • Continuously train employees and observe performance in the field.
  • Human resource responsibilities including discipline, terminations, scheduling, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • Industry experience a plus
  • Minimum 3 years management experience.
  • Verifiable references
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds or more repeatedly
  • Knowledge of logistics in the South Jersey / Northern Delaware area a plus

Pay: $50,000.00 per year

  • This is a hybrid management position. Three days out of the week will be performed in the office, managing the daily operations of the business. Two days out of the week are performed in the field, servicing our customers while training our crews on-the-job. Are you comfortable with the heavy lifting and physical requirements that come along with working in the field?
