Summary: In this role, you will work with a team of event professionals in strategy, planning, operations and communications to provide strategic end-to-end solutions for all Vizient meeting and event needs. You will focus on planning, managing and delivering in person and hybrid / virtual events throughout the country. You will work collaboratively and apply your specialized knowledge and skills to think proactively to provide a holistic customer-centric “experience” for our internal customers and guests attending these events. Responsibilities: Execute the overall strategic vision and objectives of each event including site selection recommendations, hotel contracting and negotiation, coordination with outside vendors, food/beverage management, manage meeting room and guest room inventory, on-site management and event budget management. Work in partnership with the meeting strategists and meeting owners to perform meeting management services for approximately 60 corporate meetings annually. Establish and maintain partnerships with vendors and suppliers and source new opportunities for the enhancement of meetings and conferences. Regularly work with planning committees to coordinate activities and provide support as needed to achieve the meeting objectives as determined by leadership. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing communications, finance and peers on the event planning team to create a cohesive event experience. Qualifications: Relevant degree preferred. 7 or more years of corporate events and meeting management experience required. CMP or CMM designation required. Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, Smartsheet, Concur and other event / meeting management applications. Ability to thrive under pressure, work independently and as part of a high-functioning team, prioritize multiple projects and function within a fast-paced and deadline driven environment. Proven budget and contract negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to adapt communication style to intended audiences. Collaborative team player who exhibits personal accountability and can independently manage projects from conception to completion.
