About the Role We are looking to hire an Automation Engineer to improve the process, quality, and timeliness of software product delivery. Trimble has long been a leader in precision self-steering semi-autonomous vehicle systems and is continuing to lead in developing innovative and intelligent vehicle automation solutions. This role will be critical to developing market-leading products and solutions; working closely with user interface developers, software and firmware engineers, hardware engineers, and test engineers. What You Will Do: Design and develop automation scripts or agents to generate testable binaries, executables, or containers for multiple targets from the latest software development components. Configure agents to check for compliance to coding style guides and standards. Meet corporate initiatives compliance in security and code quality (sonarqube, whitesource, cybersecurity, Synk, etc) Help the team improve code quality by enforcing things like unit test requirements or publishing reports highlighting code complexity and areas to improve the software. Work with the hardware and simulation team to implement hardware in the loop (HIL) tests for the perception system. Work with the team to automate algorithm and system performance metrics for the latest builds. Report, track and verify defects When possible, assist in development of unit tests for code modules, to help speed the rate and quality of code development.
