Engineer I / Research Associate

The Position A position is available for an Engineer I/Research Associate in the Purification Development department. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of recombinant protein purification processes from laboratory to manufacturing scale. The work will include antibody purification and conjugation process development, process validation as well as technology development. The individual will conduct hands on experiments to purify recombinant proteins using separation unit operations including column chromatography, filtration, and centrifugation as well as to conjugate antibodies to target molecules. Requirements: A BS or MS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field, preferably with 1-3 years of industry experience. Skills should include a basic understanding of protein purification techniques, protein characterization techniques (analytical HPLC, UV spectroscopy, and electrophoresis), experimental design and general laboratory skills. The successful candidate should possess good problem solving, organizational and documentation skills. The successful candidate should be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
