City/State Suffolk, VA Overview Work Shift First (Days) (United States of America) Sentara Obici Hospital, located in Suffolk, Virginia, is hiring a full time RN (Registered Nurse) to join our Team in our Emergency Services Department as a Unit Coordinator. As a Unit Coordinator, you will function in a charge nurse / staffing capacity role at times, but also have alternate tasks ranging from audits, staff schedules, patient experience, and committee work. There are many different specialties where you can perform and grow your nursing skills in areas of interest to you. Position Overview Full Time, 36 hours per week Day Shift; 7am – 7pm Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience is required Minimum of BSN is required Valid Virginia or Multistate License in good standing is required Approximately 46K visits per year (approx. 128/day) Our staff are the recipients of multiple Daisy Awards and we meet our patient flow goals for a lesser wait time. UNIT OVERVIEW Whether a patient comes to us through a referral from their primary care physician or after a visit to our emergency department, our quality, highly trained staff is here to help ensure patients are connected to the care they need. Common conditions we provide support for include depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, postpartum depression, and substance abuse disorders. We employ a variety of therapeutic tools and services including individual therapy, group therapy, social work group, recreational therapy, and cognitive therapy. We are a psychiatrist-led team of registered nurses, social workers, recreational therapists, and other health care professionals. Talroo-Leadership, Monster, Coordinator, Leadership, Supervisor, Emergency, ED, Emergency Room, ICU, CCU Job Summary Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service. 18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty. Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred. Qualifications: N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) - Other/National, Registered Nurse License (RN) - Compact/Multi-State License, Registered Nurse License (RN) - North Carolina, Registered Nurse License (RN) - Virginia Nursing Skills Sentara Healthcare prides itself on the diversity and inclusiveness of its close to an almost 30,000-member workforce.
