Coating Process Engineer

Job Title: Coating Process Engineer Job Description: Coatings Process Engineer Summary The Coatings Process Engineer should have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Sciences, or related field, with background in continuous coatings technologies preferably. The Coatings Engineer position will be located at our Reno, NV facility and will report to the Process Engineering Manager. Responsibilities Process ownership of the roll-to-roll coating equipment. Implementation of engineering changes, including updating and developing drawings and modifying process parameters to improve throughput and yields. Utilization of Entegris systems to allowing for data collection by operations nd subsequent studying of process data as applicable. Lead capital projects through life cycle including scoping, supplier communication, and implementation of the new equipment / systems implemented. Management of projects to implement key process controls onto coating machines. Ability to coordinate with operations supervisors to manage engineering improvements while accommodating for production schedules and requirements. Usage of Six-Sigma methods to identify and implement continuous improvements to products and processes, including but not limited to scrap and cost reduction and yield improvement. Lead 8D or similar root cause investigation for any production, raw goods, quality, and customer issues related to coating process or equipment. Coordinate with outside contractors regarding PMs to ensure machine reliability and uptime. Optimize production process in terms of defining sampling points & frequency, choosing value-added in-process test protocols, and working closely with outside control systems engineering resources to define all control schemes Support all corporate EH&S and Quality initiatives Support capital projects where necessary to implement new products or processes Education & Experience BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar is required. MS or higher is a plus. 3 years of experience in a roll-to-roll web coating is required. Experience in manufacturing environment. Experience in scaling from laboratory scale to HVM is a plus. Skills Must have strong computer skills utilizing Excel or PowerPoint regularly. Statistical analysis skills or six-sigma certification preferred. Experience with Minitab, JMP, or similar software preferred. Experience with CAD software such as Solidworks is preferred.
