Depending upon the desired qualifications of the successful applicant, the hiring manager may elect to fill this position at a higher level within the job hierarchy. This position will support commercial energy efficiency programs by performing outreach, recruitment and education activities with trade allies. The position is responsible for Promoting products and services through trade allies/vendor channels in the assigned territory. Convey new and upcoming developments and changes in the programs to trade allies and customers. Gather valuable trade ally and customer feedback to help track and measure the program’s success in transforming the marketplace. Interface with the public and resolve trade ally and customer issues, complaints and questions about the program. This is the intermediate level of the Trade Ally Outreach Representative classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems in business energy areas of specialization with general supervision. Employees are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. The purpose of the Trade Ally Outreach Representative is to develop relationships with vendors, introduce those vendors to Duke Energy Products and Services, and nurture the long term relationship for further cross-sell opportunities as new products are available for the business markets. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following Vendor Interactions Pipeline/Database management Team Collaboration/meetings Internal/External/Trade Shows Presentations Basic/Required Qualifications Note: This posting is for one position. Dependent on relevant experience, the level to which a candidate is aligned is outlined below. Product & Services Specialist Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Marketing or related degree OR High School/GED Degree and five (5) years related work experience Senior Product & Services Specialist Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Marketing or related degree AND two (2) years related work experience OR High School/GED Degree and five (7) years related work experience Desired Qualifications 3 years experience working for an energy utility or services company Knowledge of the utility industry Proficiency in Microsoft Office software tools and demonstrated ability to learn new systems Experience in one or more of the energy efficiency technologies: Lighting, HVAC, Pumps, Foodservice, Industrial Basic knowledge of EE technologies Sales and/or customer/vendor facing experience Comfort level with public speaking Be able to juggle deadlines, follow-up, and varying types of calls to and from different technologies, lighting, HVAC, pumps, drives, and others. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve shared goals Ability to develop recommendations on energy efficiency improvements and equipment retrofits, identification of outdoor lighting, demand response, and energy services leads, as well as any future products and services that may be developed Maintain accurate records/documentation Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Knowing how to prioritize work load. Solid phone skills Self-starter Proven ability to organize and manage large volumes of information Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve shared goals Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interact effectively Knowledge of the utility industry Experience in CRM (Customer Relation Management) related system to track activities, results, tasks #LI-RB1 #LI-Field Working Conditions Field Mobility Classification – Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location. Field setting with visits to customer facilities. This can include manufacturing plants with noise and dirt/oil. Work hours usually M-F 8-5 but customer needs may require off hours activities. Local travel required; occasional meetings require out of state travel. Specific Requirements Alternate Indiana location options will be considered.
