We are looking to add a new part-time Research Specialist to our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for researching criminal records in jurisdictions throughout the United States and reporting results according to Validity's formatting standards while ensuring compliance with the FCRA. This role requires a sharp eye for detail and a desire to always put the best data in front of our clients. Your primary focus will be on public record data such as criminal records while also working closely with Validity's Quality Assurance team to ensure the overall quality and compliance of our reports. This is a work from home position.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Responsible for researching numerous online websites for applicant information including County Court Records, State Court Records, Federal Court Records and various local, state and federal government databases
- Responsible for compiling information from all research sources into standard format for entry into Validity’s systems
- Responsible for navigation of Validity’s order management system
- Works as an effective team member, liaising with others and contributing to the overall success of the Company
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Placement Criteria
Minimum of a High School Diploma and two years experience in the workforce or suitable combination of education and relevant experience.

Employee should be proficient in Microsoft Office and have excellent computer skills, type a minimum of 40 words per minute, display adaptability in learning the use of company specific software and display comprehension of fundamental computer practices and database management.
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the background screening business is preferred.
Demonstrated organization, facilitation, communication, telephone and presentation skills, ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material and ability to handle multiple, competing and changing priorities; ability to perform effectively without supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines. Ability to self-regulate is imperative given the remote operation of Research functions.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally, and provide exceptional service, both internally and externally at all times.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Technology Requirements
This position is a remote position. Qualified candidates will already have a computer at home with anti-virus software and with high-speed internet access. Dual monitors are preferred due to the nature of the work, but not required.
Schedule Requirements
This position is a part-time work from home position that is required to have availability during regular business hours between 08:00 AM and 05:00 PM CST, Monday through Friday. However, the amount of hours available per week will vary depending on workload.
