Job Posting for Program Specialist I at 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds
Responsibilities
Collecting, processing, and conducting quality assurance of Tuition Assistance (TA) applications, and providing customer service for members on the phone, or via email
Processing of invoices from vendors and educational institutions for payment, including troubleshooting problems with member applications. Approval of application in STAR database
Support adult education students; assist with course enrollment by making outreach and follow up calls, problem solving member issues and challenging case management situations, and recruiting students to enroll in courses
Enter student data, updating student records and student logs into Shared Tracking Application Resource (STAR) system
Liaison with over 26 public colleges each semester to manage voucher enrollments, process invoices and payments, and provide regular Training and Upgrading Fund (TUF) communication to ensure strong college-fund partnerships
Meet with MA TUF team to improve processing of TA applications and maintain quality control. Work with Regional Director to conduct member surveys to assess and report on programs, continue to work on improving programs/processes and provide support to members
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Accounting, or equivalent years of experience required
Minimum two (2) years in training, finance, or workforce development required
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
Strong customer service skills required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) required
Excellent organizational skills, record keeping, and attention to detail required
Able to work well independently, prioritize multiple assignment and consistently meet deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends required
