What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at 12th Street Tavern?
Under direct supervision of the Restaurant Manager, serves beverages, fills beverage orders and provides excellent customer service.
Must have servers license. High school diploma or GED plus one-year bartender customer service experience. Must be at least 21 years of age with current alcohol server certification. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
· Knowledge bartending and bar maintenance operations and customer service.
· Knowledge of all bar items and liquors.
· Knowledge of POS systems.
· Knowledge of cash handling.
· Ability to service customers in a professional appearance and manner.
· Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English.
· Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
· Ability to fill requisition for supplies.
· Ability to follow instructions and work in a stressful and busy environment.
· Skill in interpersonal and customer relations.
· Ability to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
Collect money for drinks served.
Balance cash receipts.
Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer.
Clean bars, work areas, and tables.
Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
