Job Summary Scope of Position: Perform all aspects of treaty assumed accounting of assigned brokers including thorough account analysis of complex reinsurance contracts, entry into reinsurance system, and cash settlement. Participate in the preparation of monthly closing reports and quarterly underwriting results. Lead or assist with special projects, system enhancements, testing, and ad-hoc reporting requests. Responsibilities Analyze & process complex monthly/quarterly treaty reinsurance accounts: Reconcile broker invoices to supporting documentation. Thoroughly review premium & loss bordereaux to ensure compliance with treaty terms & to identify catastrophe or large loss activity. Prepare cash disbursements for assigned brokers. Document and resolve account or cash issues. Confirm and process adjustable features on contingent and sliding scale commissions as well as retrospectively rated premium adjustments. Prepare complex monthly and quarterly reports with variance analysis. Follow-up for missing accounts. Prepare and update pro-rata claims automatic upload template. Analyze and process retro QS accounts. Employ process improvements and efficiencies to facilitate execution and analysis. Ensure effective SOX controls are maintained and followed. Work closely with other Reinsurance Accounting team members, and members of Actuarial, Underwriting and Claims departments. Assist with internal and external audits of treaty reinsurance accounting. Assist in the preparation of Assumed & Ceded Schedule F. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting and MBA a plus 5 years assumed or ceded reinsurance accounting experience Experience in property & casualty reinsurance assumed accounting Are certification and/or CPCU courses a plus Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to draw conclusions from research Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet critical deadlines In-depth knowledge of treaty reinsurance accounting concepts Highly motivated, strong ability to take initiative, and strong sense of ownership Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with individuals at all levels Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Microsoft Excel – proficient in pivot table & v-lookup functionality Snowflake – Query creation a plus Do you like solving complex business problems, working with talented colleagues and have an innovative mindset?
