Job Summary
Under general supervision, provides administrative support to one or more individuals in the Claims Department.
Responsibilities
Responsible for setting up and assignment of new claims.
Preparation of acknowledgement letters and forwarding via mail or electronically to the insured and brokers.
Procurement of binders and/or policies.
Prepare Loss Run reports and place in new claims files.
Preparation of FNOL (first notice of loss) in RMA (Risk Master) and ImageRight. Upon completion of FNOL set-up, routing new loss to Claim Handler.
Handles incoming telephone calls and responds to information requests.
General correspondence to staff, invoices to be processed, letters to be printed and mailed.
Processing of certified mailings, ROR letters, etc. and tracking of same.
Special projects as assigned by Operations Supervisor or Manager.
Key Competencies
Familiar with a variety of insurance concepts, practices, and procedures.
Organized and detail oriented.
Computer savvy with intermediate Excel Word, Outlook, skills.
Customer service oriented.
Team player.
Education & Experience
High School graduate; some college or insurance related education preferred.
At least 1 to 2 years of related claims experience in the insurance field.
